Another Petition

Dear Starbucks,

You are currently allowing people to who do not carry firearms in your stores.  I demand that you stand up for the safety of your customers and require patrons to possess guns in your coffee shops.

Guns  belong in restaurants where families and children gather in order to keep them safe from criminals. (After all, if there is a problem everyone wants the cops who carry firearms to get there as soon as possible.)

Implement a corporate decision.

Do not allow those who can not protect themselves, other customers or your employees in your store.

Thanks

Concerned law abiding citizen.

Please SIGN MY petition.

Edit to add –this was just a parody petition I threw together after seeing Snow Flakes In Hell mention  the Brady Campaign’s attempt. If anyone wants to use this to drop Starbucks a comment; Carl from Chicago provided the link to do so — go here

Where’s the link to sign it?

I went to the Locally Owned Pharmacy today, as one does at times, wearing an almost 5″ skinner on my belt and they don’t have any 30.06 signage preventing concealed either. And they also send you Christmas cards every year…and people wonder why I go there instead of the “new” walgreen’s. I also was given free coffee while I waited for my order. Customer is most always right. People forget that.

Some businesses are still rational and those are the ones I frequent.

Vote with your wallet even more so than petitions. it works. We got a bank to revert their anti-carry/weapons stance in 2007 because a number of people threatened to cash in their accounts and CDs.

    Thomas,

    This is the petition.

It is a parody of the Brady Campaign’s petition against Starbucks.

    Bob,
I go to Starbucks almost every day and have not seen any sign forbidding the concealed carry of firearms. I also carry my Colt defender in with me.

    Paul,

I know. The Brady Campaign has a petition online to try to get Starbucks to ban firearms from their stores.

I figure the other side needs a little attention. Why not point out that people are being put in jeopardy by unarmed customers.

If Starbucks has a right to exclude gun owners, they also have a right to exclude those not willing to take responsibility for their own safety.

I’m glad to hear you carry your Colt Defender with you. I’ve drooled over that handgun a couple of times.

Yeah, Paul–I’d be pretty happy to have a Defender, too–even if Bob S. had drooled over it.

Thanks for the compliments on my defender. It is truly as good as they say. Shoots better than I can. Bob if you are serious about the petition it would be a good idea to point out the 2.5 million times a gun has prevented crime (Kleck study) and also to point out that ALL mass shootings have occured in “gun free zones”. I will definately sign up, as will probably thousands of other civil rights advocates.
    Kurt,
I am not a rich man, saved up for a while to get the gun. Don’t have very many firearms but I believe I should get the best I can afford when I do get one.

We should petition Starbucks to make good coffee at a reasonable price!

    Weer’d,

And I thought I was asking for the impossible with my petition.

Good luck with yours, you’ll need it.
