Weekend Update
First and foremost — fairly good news about my Bride (She Who Lets Me Make Her Coffee Every Morning) Kim; she had some scans done this week (Bone, PET and CT) and reviewed those with the Radiologist (?) doctor who will be handling her treatment.
The scans showed only one small anomaly with an ovary; other wise no cancer in the rest of her body. There is also positive news in that the lumps in both breasts are separate cancers. This means the cancer hasn’t spread. It is rare this happens; probably a genetic issue but really means we aren’t looking at cancer running rampant.
Second, I have some of the greatest in-laws in the world. In addition to the love, support and encouragement we get on a daily basis; they have decided to help us out by taking a financial worry off our plate at this time. My Tn Father In Law and my Tx Mother In Law have decided to pay to get the A/C fire repaired.
I’m working on getting the car towed out to the shop today.
Last, we took place in one of my company’s community outreach today. DFW Airport is a major way station for troops coming home from overseas. Every flight is met by volunteers welcoming the service men and women home.
We went out with a group from work to greet today’s R&R flight. What an opportunity to express our thanks to some wonderful folks.
Truly, when asked we can say truthfully “We are richly blessed”.

I’m glad to see good news. I pray her course of treatment won’t be too rough.

that is awesome news! Non-matastic means you likely caught it in time. As always you and yours will be in our thoughts.
Also, I hear stories, and the steriotypes of people who dislike their inlaws, I’m glad that mine are as awesome as yours.
We are blessed.

That’s terrific, Bob!
Excellent news, and pretty good timing on the A/C repair. Until I bought my current truck (Tacoma), I had been on a looooooong spell without A/C in a series of daily drivers. Probably close to 8 years through 3 different vehicles
Man it sure makes me appreciate it now that I have it!

Good to hear about the wife! The cancer not having spread yet is definitely a good sign, and hopefully means things will be easily treatable. Or, at least, as easy as things get.
And, speaking as a once-servicemember, thanks for taking time out of your day and hanging out at the airport… It really does mean a lot to folks in uniform for there to be someone there to say ‘hi’, even if they are complete strangers.

Yee-HAH! Excellent news, Bob! I’m so happy for you and Kim. I know you’re going to kick this cancer’s ASS.

It is rare this happens; probably a genetic issue but really means we aren’t looking at cancer running rampant.
This is good news. I’ll be keeping the two of you in my prayers.

Good luck and best wishes to your wife; it sounds like she has a variety of cancer that can possibly be beaten, and not just wrestled into remission.
