Irony Defined
Admins for an email listserver sent out a test email to check for valid emails.
Some people don’t know the difference between ‘reply’ and ‘reply to all’ — resulting in a large number of responses going out to everyone.
So what are people doing, what some people do best –
Complaining about the large number of replies ….
….using the ‘reply to all’ button.
Yeah, it is that kind of Friday.

Those folks tend to be of the ilk that think we shouldn’t have “reply to all” buttons and they should be banned. Their only point of reference is themselves, and they know they can’t safely handle a “reply to all” button. Mommy told them their whole lives growing up that they were special and just as capable as everyone else. Chock full of false self esteem, it is unfathomable to them that anyone else can safely handle a “reply to all” button either. To acknowledge that would shatter their fragile psych.

I once had a reply all storm in a law firm i once worked for. It brought down the mail servers. cleaning up that mess was pretty easy (delete everything in the queues distended for a local account, tell everyone to resend anything important), explaining the issue to the lawyers that caused it was not. “thick” does not even begin to describe it. . .

Could be worse–it could have been on a Microsoft Exchange server….
