An Unexpected Source…

….for thankfulness — a broken car.

She Who Lets Me Make Her Coffee Every Morning has a car that isn’t running. Doesn’t look like it will be an expensive fix; hopefully just a sensor that has gone out. My mechanic, my wonderful brother-in-law*, thinks it should be a quick fix.

Her car’s been down a couple of days and it really hasn’t been a problem. We have two and our Son TR has helped out with transportation.

Today….today was a little different.
Today made me realized (once again) just how good I have it.

SWLMMHCEM is in a Pastoral Counseling Education program; working towards being a hospital chaplain. The program is at a major hospital south of Fort Worth, just off the major North/South Highway. I had to take SWLMMHCEM to the hospital today. And it rained. And there was an accident on the highway.

Dealing with the traffic, the rain, the drivers who have never driven in the rain or traffic; really made me appreciate how little traffic I really experience on my commute to and from work.

So for a busted sensor, I am thankful.

    counting your blessings I see.
BILs like that are worth their weight in gold (or beer or chicken wings).

    KX59,

Always counting my blessings regarding my in-laws. I have been incredibly lucky to have great ones. This rant, however incoherent was more along the lines of “Thank goodness my commute isn’t worse than it is”.
I seriously don’t know how people living 30, 45, 60 minutes away from work do it. My commute of 15-20 minutes is a cake walk on the worst days compared to what many experience every day.
